Make your job search as quick, effective, and painless as possible!

Feel prepared, powerful, and peaceful in any interview!

Did you know that top salespeople get jobs faster than anyone else?

Did you know that they consistently get higher salary offers?

Did you know that you don't have to be a professional salesperson to get these results?

It's true. Professional salespeople are among the best interviewers and negotiators on the planet.

And it's equally true that you don't have to be a sales person in order to dramatically increase your effectiveness in job interviews, and in the entire job search process. You just need a handful of the right moves, and the right model to follow.

Do you always know what to say during an interview ?

Do you see clearly what needs to happen next?

Do you feel completely in control?

What if you could?

You're probably thinking, "That's a lot to promise. How does it work?" The answer is that you just need the right tracks to run on, and the right racks are outlined concisely in this 21 step system.

In fact, the best way to get a feel for how it works is to ask yourself these questions (keep score as you go...how many can you say "yes" to?)

  1. Is my resume up to date?
  2. Are my ideal job criteria in writing?
  3. Do I have a clear goal or objective statement that makes the interviewer want to say, ‘Tell me more?"
  4. Do I have a strong benefit-focused cover letter?
  5. Is my Elevator Speech natural and at the tip of my tongue?
  6. Am I clear on the top 5 benefits a company receives from hiring me?
  7. Can I articulate What makes ME stand out from all the others applying for the same position?
  8. Do I know the top 5 questions I need to ask in order to determine if this company is a good fit for me?
  9. Do I know the top 5 questions I need to ask in order to determine if this position is a good fit for me?
  10. Have I done my research on the company? Salaries? Culture? Industry issues and pains? Specific pains for my industry segment? The company's top 3 problems?
  11. Have I developed at least three solution-focused statements on how I would solve their problems?
  12. Have I set my boundaries for compensation negotiations? (What's my bottom line?)
  13. If there are perceived barriers to hiring me, have I prepared my answers to these objections in a graceful and truthful manner?
  14. Do I know how to gracefully get the interviewer to tell me how many positions are open? How many people they're interviewing? When they hope to fill the position? Who else is involved in the hiring process?
  15. Do I have a thorough follow-up program, including a way to track and activate specific scheduled activities?
  16. Do I have a clear and focused job search action plan?
  17. Do I have a way to identify and evaluate my current network? (Do I have the right people in my network?)
  18. Do I have a strong and proactive plan to increase and enhance the quality of the network on a weekly basis?
  19. Am I clear on the R.O.I. the company would see in hiring me? And am I prepared to articulate it succinctly?
  20. Do I know how to read the mind of the interviewer?
  21. Do I understand where the interviewer is in the company food chain? And how to change my approach based on the interviewers responsibility and authority?

So how did you score? How many questions were you able to say "yes" to?

Now I know what you may be thinking. If you're not already a salesperson you're saying to yourself, "I hate selling!" And that's OK. I couldn't begin to count the number of people who feel the same way.

Here's the secret you need to recognize, though. Whether you love the idea of selling ( or you hate it ) selling is happening at every step of your job search process -- whether you're aware of it, or whether you're consciously using it to your advantage. It's happening.

Why not benefit from the skills and strategies heavy hitter sales pros have honed for years? You don't have to become a salesperson, but you can use their models to be just as effective as they are in the job search and salary negotiations.
